This guide provides all the essential information required to successfully obtain travel currency under the latest regulations. Please note that this travel currency scheme is only available to Iranian nationals with verified Iranian citizenship.
From now on, all registration procedures and requests for receiving travel currency must be submitted exclusively through the official online platform of the Iran Center for Exchange and Gold.

Participating banks such as Bank Melli, Bank Mellat, Bank Saman, and others are responsible only for the final handover of the currency at designated airport counters.
These documents are required to successfully submit a travel currency request in the system:
- Role of Operating Banks: Banks like Melli, Mellat, and Saman will only be responsible for the final delivery of the currency at airport counters.
- Valid passport with sufficient validity
- International flight ticket with confirmed reservation
- Visa (if required)
- Receipt for exit tax payment
- National ID card (Smart Card)
- Bank account information belonging to the applicant
Note: Travel currency can only be received once per year per individual.
The allocation limit and exchange rate are determined by the Central Bank. The approved exchange rate typically follows the Iran Center for Exchange & Gold rate, which is usually lower than the free market.
